April 4-5, 2014
Jones Day sponsored and several lawyers attended the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) Central Region Conference, hosted by the Asian American Bar Association of Ohio (AABA Ohio) on April 4-5, 2014. The event featured opportunities to network with Asian American legal professionals, in-house counsel, and judges from all over the Midwest region. Margaret Wong was honored with the 2014 AABA Ohio Catalyst Award. The Conference culminated with a keynote Gala Dinner panel moderated by Wendy Shiba, former executive officer of three NYSE-listed companies, including PolyOne Corp. and KB Home.
Organized in 1988, NAPABA provides a voice for increased diversity in the federal and state judiciaries, advocates for equal opportunity in the workplace, works to eliminate hate crimes and anti-immigrant sentiment, and promotes the professional development of people of color in the legal profession. NAPABA represents the interests of over 40,000 attorneys and 67 national, state, and local Asian Pacific American bar associations. Its members include solo practitioners, large firm lawyers, corporate counsel, legal service and non-profit attorneys, and lawyers serving at all levels of government.
